Got mugged

If you visited earlier today you might have sensed a bit of crankiness in the air over here. True that.

I think it was the snow and cold. It demanded my grumpiness and I was glad to oblige.

Then I got home and all was ruined! Someone had the nerve to send me something special in the UPS and my crappy mood was totally shot!

Before you get all judgemental, let me explain that although I am pretty anal when it comes to spelling, I would no more correct someone's spelling on their blog than I would wear pantyhose to bed. Really. I totally turn off my mental spellcheck when I blog-trip. Even though I expect people who consider themselves friends to immediately email me if they find an error on MY blog. Gah!

Last week I did make one teensy weensie um... play on words in my comment over at Our Name is Blog Oops! and today I got this in the mail.

Luckily there was no white powder or rattlesnakes in the box. Instead there was this:

An awesome mug* that could have no better home than on my desk. Tomorrow I will take it to work and use it and make sure everyone knows that I am not some alphabetical rent-a-cop. No, I am official because it says so right there on my mug.

Thank you, thank you, Lorrie! You are awesome! And so is your/my mug... although some might argue that Police should be spelled B-I-T-C-H.

In the future you might also be more careful about rewarding my bad behavior.

*The awesome mug really deserves a better photo but I am too tired to argue with my camera yet again over lost photos.

Night'chall!

That is hysterical! I turn off my internal spellcheck (and turn on my internal censor) when I read blogs (and emails from my friends, work documents, etc), too. It's hard to do, though, as if I make a spelling error in MY work, it's a bad, bad thing (I write resumes professionally). Anyway, Lorrie sounds like a hoot... and a good sport! ;) Glad your day improved!

Glad you liked it! I had to decide between sending you that mug or getting you a pair of earings. Or is it earrings? Crap.

I cannot seem to snag any of Lorrie's pottery no matter what I do. I cringe when I see typos I have made in my comments to others. But, there is no going back!

I am NOT good about my internal spell check. I see the wrong form of the word there/their/they're and I just can't help it--but I do keep it to myself. : )

Thanks for stopping by my blog, and for the record, I made lefsa once and it was like a potato tortilla. But slather some butter and sugar on it--who cares!

I love that mug- I'm so jealous!
I'll admit, I flinch when I see bad spelling, but I have too much Southern inbreeding to deign a comment (besides, I know karma would hop up & bite my in the fanny if I did- like entire day of the fingers just one key off on the keyboard all day long :-S)

As the 1971 Spelling Bee Champion of Hopkins County, Texas - and 4th Place speller in the State of Texas that year, I find I cannot turn off my internal spellcheck. But I don't point it out. If I point it out then I will, in the next sentence, misspell something. It's Carma...

Oh how funny! I too am a spelling nut, but I have clumsy fingers so I type poorly--

such a conflict.

Glad I stumbled on your blog--looks like fun

I usually offer edits via comment all out in the open like... but you're right e-mail is better.

Oh boy, I've missed so much by not stopping by here! Sorry to hear about Homer's job loss. I pray EVERY day that I'll still have a job as I don't have a spouse to pay half the bills.

Love the mug!!! I've not ever seen one like it and I'm so jealous!

And going to work without my earrins is almost as bad as leaving the house without my cell phone. Both occasions make me feel naked!

Have a good weekend and I hope your house is still intact!
Peace

I got a mug once. I'm pretty sure it had the word B-i-t-c-h on it! I can't imagine why.......
