PepperAnn: Where the heck IS the Pecos, anyway?
Jane: I have no idea but I imagine the other side of it as a pretty boring, lackluster place since everything seems to happen on THIS side of the Pecos.
PepperAnn: If we were to cross the Pecos, would you say to me “Dang girl, you are sweeter that anything on the OTHER side of the Pecos.”? Of course you realize that from a global perspective, everywhere is ‘this side of the Pecos’.... well, except for the actual Pecos itself.
Jane: Okay, I would probably just say ‘PA, you are the SWEETEST thing…. period’ to avoid getting into another philosophical discussion with a dog.

I have those conversations with my dog, too. And I have to be honest, I don't like it when I realize my dog is smarter than I am. It's quite disconcerting.
I'm really glad you have Pepper Ann to talk to otherwise you might just talk to yourself and we all know what they say about answering ourselves? At least this way the dog is talking back and not you. You're not losing it yet.

LOL...I don't talk to a dog, since we no longer have one, and talking to a cat...well, they don't stick around long enough. Talking to a toddler is about the same though. They're about as responsive, at least as far as being able to UNDERSTAND them. I'm pretty sure that some of the babble, if run through a translator would be telling me where to go...the expressions sure seem to.
PA is so adorable and smart, too.
I talk to my dog all the time but he just looks at me and then licks himself. :)

Pepper Ann is a sweetie. I talk to Rigby all day long too.
I know that border collies are sooo smart but PepperAnn has go some mad skills when it comes to geography!!

My cat is very verbal like this but I had no ideas dogs were too:)
Back to your bathroom "smelly" business...I always pull up my shirt over my nose to nullify the offending odor.

First timer here. Great post to start with. I have two border collies, they are both smarter than all of us here.
'Scuse me, Bitches!! Timber and I are on the other side of the Pecos from y'all and we're havin' a blast. Okay, maybe not a blast, but we're doin' alllll right. We have chocolate and dog treats over here, too, ya know...
